Gonzo – Live @ Downtown Café (04-02-2010)

For those that weren’t able to make it last night, I successfully recorded my entire 2-hour set at the Downtown Café in the East of Paris. A couple of months ago I had already done a warm-up set for Bounce 2 Live, but due to hardware difficulties the entire night wasn’t recorded…
I prepared a playlist that balanced my tastes in jazz, dub, reggae, rocksteady, ragga, hip-hop, soul, funk, and even some drum n’ bass. Of course during the actual set the playlist was adapted according to the crowd’s reactions, which was pretty good.
I hope some of the minor technical mistakes don’t keep you from enjoying my first real live performance (i.e. in front of a crowd of friends and strangers).
Enjoy!
For those interested, the mp3s were played using the MixVibes software on a laptop, itself connected to a mixer (thanks to Antoine for the laptop!). The other gig I’d played at had a laptop and Serato, and I have to say I’m seriously considering investing in that magic piece of equipment. To be continued…
